UNeECC Conference Vilnius Minutes

a.    Website: will become more interactive, but success will depend on use(rs)
b.    Membership: at present UNeECC has 49 members from 20 countries

c.    Financial report 2009: there is a small deficit, mainly due to marketing expenditure
d.    Budget approval 2010: money is made available for the publication of the Liverpool conference proceedings, advertisement & the studentfestival in Pécs.
 

a.    Renewal of Presidency + call for Board Members: there were no candidacies that met the criteria; F. Carrijn will renew her term; there will be a new call for board members (with specific tasks)

b.    Rules of Membership: members that have not paid three years consecutively will be considered excluded; moreover payment of the annual contribution (€ 300) is a prerequisite for reduced conference and other fees.
 

i.    Liverpool conference: huge success
ii.    Student Network: launched in Pécs in the spring of 2009; the students are very enthusiastic about the network and are organizeing a second network event during the Vilnius conference. The idea is to further involve the students in UNeECC and give them space for student-oriented initiatives that fit in with the goals of UNeECC. 

iii.    Lectures Series: Lessius University College Antwerp organized a public debat with the British philosopher Roger Scruton. Students and professors from Liverpool Hope University and Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu participated in the debate via video-conferencing
iv.    Liverpool Proceedings: there’s been some delay, but the publication is due in the spring of 2010. The proceedings will be published by the university of Sibiu.

i.    GA & Conference 2010, Pécs: timing: the conference will take place on 14 and 15 October 2010 and will be jointly organized by UNeECC and the Compostella Group of Universities. The theme is yet to be confirmed
ii.    On 3-4 May 2010 the University of Avignon will organize an Erasmus Co-ordinators meeting for UNeECC

iii.    Colllaboration with Essen & Istanbul: in September there will be a joint research seminar linking Essen, Pécs and Istanbul
iv.    2011 & 2012 Conferences: call for themes, candidates & timing: no decisions taken yet.
