This year’s Annual Conference was hosted by the University of Novi Sad (Serbia), bringing together four programmes under the umbrella title “Cultural Crossroads” (CTTH, GDA, Karabük University and UNeECC).

At the official opening on 24 September at 10:00 a.m., Dr László Imre Komlósi, one of UNeECC’s Vice-Presidents, delivered a welcome address on behalf of UNeECC.
The plenary keynote presentations focused on a range of topical issues, including the creative industries and the tourism labour market in the post-COVID era, sustainability and accessibility, the concept of the “mindful museum”, and the impact of AI-generated influencers. The main themes addressed in the parallel sessions included green digital accessibility and cultural heritage “in motion”.
The UNeECC PhD Workshop took place on 24 September from 4:30 p.m., professionally moderated by UNeECC Vice-Presidents Dr László Imre Komlósi and William Chambers. Six PhD students had the opportunity to receive professional feedback and support for their research as part of the workshop.
On 25 September, the plenary keynote presentations addressed participatory approaches to shaping the future of heritage and tourism, as well as the history of Belgrade’s architecture. This was followed by the session entitled “Cultural Hybridity, Identity and Digital Crossroads”, which we attended together with UNeECC members.
On 26 September, as part of the conference’s accompanying programme, we enjoyed a memorable excursion, including wine tasting at Deurić Winery, a visit to Grgeteg Monastery on Fruška Gora Mountain, and a visit to the historic old town of Sremski Karlovci.

The programme was followed by an optional additional event at the Novi Sad Synagogue, where we had the opportunity to attend a concert by the Gizella Female Choir, who travelled from Veszprém, UNESCO City of Music, as part of their tour in Serbia.
We would like to thank the organisers for a rich and inspiring conference, the excellent networking opportunities, and the wonderful accompanying programmes in Novi Sad.
