The volunteer management team of Veszprém-Balaton 2023 ECoC (Hungary) is looking for interested organizations to exchange good practices, experiences, and ideas regarding the implementation of volunteering activities. Their aim is to build up a reliable partnership with other volunteer teams and organizations in ECoC cities and twin cities of Veszprém. Veszprém - in addition to the local activities - is going to host volunteers from abroad for both long and short periods of time.
Call for partners volunteering:
The Public Foundation for the Culture of the Veszprém-Balaton Region is committed to forming strategic partnerships alongside the field of volunteering with the members of the ECoC family and the twin towns of Veszprém. The Foundation is responsible for all the volunteering activities of Veszprém-Balaton 2023.
Our goal is to strengthen international cooperation with the support of the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and its mobility opportunities. These activities give a unique tool to learn from each other’s good practices.
Sharing experiences regarding organizing such an event as the European Capital of Culture is important and mutually useful for all the parties. One of the best ways to achieve this goal is through personal contacts that’s why we welcome the participation of motivated volunteers who are interested in the field of cultural programs.
ESC is an EU-funded program that helps young people aged between 18-30 years. The participants are spending a specific amount of time with a hosting organization abroad and they get involved in their programs, activities, they gain professional insight in the preparation and implementation phases of the programs of the VEB2023.
The volunteers and their mobilities are fully covered, including the travel, accommodation, food allowance, and pocket money. During the service, the participants are going through a learning process where an experienced mentor is supporting them.
The organizations and the participants are mutually profiting from these projects. Receiving volunteers in Veszprém is not only helpful for us, the hosting organization but the sending organizations as well. They can also benefit from the multiplying effect after the return of the participants. They will share their knowledge and new ideas in their ECoC community back at home.
Veszprém has an awarded application in 2022 to host 4 foreign volunteers for 12 months and 2 groups of 20 people for 3 weeks. By 2023 - the title-holding year - we would like to expand our local network of institutions and host 3-6 more ESC volunteers and repeat the program of the two teams of 20.
We see a great opportunity to build up a well-functioning partnership. This motivates us to organize ESC projects and host volunteers from other ECoC cities and twin towns of Veszprém.
As the project is funded by the European Solidarity Corps, we need to be aware of a requirement regarding the 12-months long projects. The sending and hosting organizations both need to hold a valid Quality Label from their National Agencies. Our foundation has already received it therefore if you have a similar project, we are interested to send volunteers from Veszprém to you.
We would be glad to have you in this partnership. If you are interested in this opportunity, please write to Dávid Üregi, responsible for international volunteering projects by the 15th of April at the following address:
